Who we are Plymouth and District Racial Equality Council is dedicated to working to promote racial equality for all and to challenge racial inequality.
History The Plymouth and District Racial Equality Council was established in 1993, it developed out of the West Devon Anti-Racist Group, a community organisation that was run by volunteers for many years, without national funding. In 1995 the Commission for Racial Equality agreed to fund a development worker, and in 1997 to fund the post of Director. The organisation has now expanded and does a variety of work that covers the four areas of community development, policy development, race related case work and public education and campaigning.
Vision and values In pursuit of our aims the organisation has identified the following strategic priorities:
PDREC is a membership organisation that welcomes both individual and organisation members.
