Membership  & Volunteering

The PDREC is a membership-based organisation. Indeed because we value the qualities that Members may bring to an organisation, and that their values in turn can enrich what we do, their role is  underpinned in our constitution.

We see broadening our base of Members – we currently have over seventy – as an important way to make our organisation more:

  • Transparent – because we want to promote a working culture that is open and accessible in sharing information about what it does.
  • Responsive – towards meeting the growing and changing needs of Plymouth’s BME population
  • Accountable – through the democratic rights that membership accords
  • Representative – reflective of the breadth of Plymouth society as a whole
  • Authoritative – because a broader base of representation gives a legitimacy and greater weight to what we say

Membership, which is subject to Board approval,

is free and open to both individuals and corporate members.

The benefits of membership are:-

  • Voting rights at all General Meetings (the AGM elects PDREC’s Board of Trustees)
  • Receiving our colourful and informative monthly Newsletter
  • Quarterly informal meeting where you can meet other Members
  • Training, development and volunteering

If you believe in – or your organisation is committed to – equality for all and are opposed to racism and discrimination why not think about joining us?
